linking air miles with green miles

Every little helps in the push to travel more sustainably, and the Edinburgh Shuttle is a great new way of getting to the airport. It is somewhere between the fixed route airport bus, and the more expensive taxi route with charges varying (the more people you travel with the less you pay).

The Edinburgh Shuttle was a finalist in this years Scottish Thistle Award for innovation, and has recently expanded to include further pick-ups around the capital city. The highest priced fare is £8.00 and two or more travellers receive a discount. The shuttle can be pre-booked or ‘on demand’ and caters for golfing bags and bikes! England’s capital has recently cottoned on to this method of travel and is now offering an airport shuttle run between London hotels and Heathrow and Gatwick airport. The London shuttle is a larger scale service holding 16 people. Designed with the business traveller in mind the ‘dot2dot’ shuttle has expanded leg room, state of the art satellite navigation equipment, congestion tracking systems and will stop four times per journey. At £17.50 per person, the service aims to take the stress out of getting to and from the airports.
