Innovation in Scottish Tourism.
We live in an era of extraordinary Innovation. In many aspect of our lives, we take for granted a pace of change that our grand parents could not have imagined, and this applies to tourism as much as any other sector.
Members of TiG are determined that Scottish tourism should participate fully in this era of Innovation – and are prepared to do something to help achieve this. TiG comprises an active membership of over fifty businesses, representing a cross-section of tourism operators and entrepreneurs. The proposition is simple: “what can we, TiG do – here, now and in a practical sense – to remove barriers that hold our industry back and accelerate change where the real opportunities lie”.
Formed in 2002, The Tourism Innovation Group (TiG) is a private-sector led group, which aims to stimulate tourism operators into taking action to add to the quality, scope and success of tourism businesses, improving Scotland’s competitiveness in tourism markets – in other words, to INNOVATE, to COLLABORATE and grow the tourism economy. This means doing things differently, exploring new avenues, collaborating effectively and taking risks.
TiG is funded by key stakeholders in the Scottish tourism sector: Scottish Enterprise, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and VisitScotland and resourced by time and enthusiasm of members.
