Destination Development

Research shows that visitors tend to plan their visits around the experiences that they want to enjoy in Scotland such as outdoor activities, cultural events or tranquil get aways.    But their impression of Scotland is often based around towns or regions,  as much as specific tourism businesses.  (“I loved St. Andrews; it was so pretty and such a friendly place...”)  TiG encourages  the growth of tourism through collaboration, which may take the form of local destination partnerships.  The Destination-based  approach places emphasis on improving all aspects of the visitor experience, from inital research on what to do and how to get there ("Look and Book") through to wowing visitors during their stay - making the experience exceed the expectation.
